I Can’t Help You If…

From 2005-2015, I felt like I was on top of the Internet game.

Writing articles and creating content for the biggest websites on the planet.

Going around the world to speak and present at seminars.

And of course, creating all those sexy DVD’s and manuals you’d come to grow and love 😉

But today’s post isn’t about me…it’s about YOU.

At one of my speaking stops in Louisville, I was approach by a young physical therapist and promptly grilled as to how he should create, market and sell his first fitness info product.

Now back in the day I loved me a good Heineken (or two), so I sat down with this young fella and broke down – in painstaking detail – what I did to create products.

Mindmapping the entire project first.

Taking that mindmap and using it to build a video script and eventually a printed manual.

How to go about writing sales copy and sell the product without selling your soul.

My guy had a solid idea, and I had no doubt it easily could’ve been a $100,000 info product.

Fast forward one year…

Same fitness seminar.

Same social event.

Same guy.

I was so pumped to see him, because I couldn’t wait to hear how his product had done.

“Mike, man, I just got so busy doing other things I never got around to it.”

I was crushed.

Even though I hadn’t followed up with him, I felt invested in his success.

I wanted to see him win.

But he didn’t even get started.

So that’s one reason I can’t help you – if I give you the playbook…

…if I invest my time and energy…

…but YOU don’t put in the work, I can’t help you.

But as I was thinking about this post, it made me realize there’s actually a second reason I can’t help you.

In hindsight, this guy actually made it farther than most.

He raised his hand.

Stepped forward.

Asked for help.

Which is kind of sad, because most people don’t even get this far…I can’t help you if you don’t ask.

They think they can figure it all out on their own.

They’re unwilling (or unable) to admit they need help.

Or that what they’ve been doing just flat out isn’t working.

So while I realize this isn’t your standard fitness post, this is my plea to you.

If you need help with programming, coaching, assessments, or maybe even your fitness business, let me know.

Drop me an email at [email protected].

Let me know what you’re struggling with, and I’ll try and point you in the right direction.

Maybe it’s a podcast or article I’ve written in the past.

Maybe it’s one of my products that I’ve created.

Or maybe it’s working with someone else that really allows you to level up.

But please, don’t continue to struggle on your own.

This industry is such an amazing space, but I see too many trainers and coaches get frustrated, burned out or flat out leave because they’re not seeing the success they deserve.

So that’s it – let me know how I can help, and I’ll do my best to make it happen!

All the best,
MR
