  • Festive and fun: They look just like the Grinch’s little Santa hat, and kids get a kick out of them every time.
  • Healthy(ish) holiday treat: A fresh, fruity option in the middle of all the sugar-heavy snacks.
  • Kid-friendly to make: Little hands love helping assemble the kabobs, which basically turns snack time into an activity.
  • Quick and no-cook: Just slice, stack and go. They come together in minutes with simple ingredients.
  • Perfect for parties: Great for school events, holiday gatherings or adding something colorful to your Christmas snack board.

Ingredients Needed

Green grapes, mini marshmallows, banana slices, strawberries
  • Green grapes: These make up the Grinch’s “face” and add a juicy, sweet bite.
  • Banana slices: Cut into ½-inch rounds. They create the white band of the Santa hat.
  • Strawberries: Hulled and placed upside down to form the bright red hat.
  • Mini marshmallows: The finishing touch on top for that classic Santa hat look.

How to Make Grinch Fruit Kabobs

Grapes and banana slices on a marble cutting board as the first layer of Grinch kabobs.

Step 1: Slide a grape onto your skewer or toothpick first. This will be the Grinch’s face.

Step 2: Add a banana slice on top of the grape.

Step 3: Place a strawberry (pointed side up) to form the hat shape.

Step 4: Press a mini marshmallow onto the end of the skewer to complete the Santa hat. Repeat with the rest of the ingredients.

Recipe Tips!

  • Use firm grapes: Softer grapes can split when you push the skewer through, so choose ones that feel nice and crisp.
  • Cut bananas last: Bananas brown quickly, so slice them right before assembling or brush lightly with lemon juice to keep them fresh.
  • Pick similar-size fruit: Matching the size of your grapes, banana slices and strawberries helps the kabobs stack neatly and look extra cute.
  • Go slow with the skewers: Gently twist the skewer as you push it through the banana to prevent splitting.
  • Assemble right before serving: These come together fast, but the bananas hold up best when made close to serving time.

How to Store

These kabobs are best enjoyed the day you make them since bananas brown quickly. If you need to prep a little ahead, assemble everything except the banana slices. Store the grapes, strawberries and marshmallows on skewers in an airtight container in the fridge, then add fresh banana right before serving.

If you do end up storing leftovers, keep them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Just know the bananas may soften and darken a bit.
