2025 Gift Guide for Parents (Ideas They’ll Actually Use and Love)

It’s that time of year when I turn to my more-stylish-than-me husband—and a collective of friends from all walks—to help me read the stars in search of that ever-elusive fantasy: the perfect gift for him. One friend simply texted, “tools and gear” (which tools? what gear, I beg of you!), while another replied, “NOT socks until we ask.” Yet somehow, this year’s curation feels like a one-stop shop for every kind of guy.

Because, similar to shopping for parents, men can be, shall we say, difficult. And if not difficult, expensive. (The aforementioned “gear” could be anything from a new computer to a vehicle.) But here’s the thing we often overlook when hunting for gifts for him: men are so good at play. They are literally kids at Christmas, thrilled for a new toy and excited to tear it open.

So ask yourself: what makes him feel like a kid again? Maybe it’s re-reading The Lord of the Rings trilogy (and then queuing up the extended editions—again). Maybe it’s tinkering in the garage, building something from nothing. Maybe it’s getting dressed in the morning, imagining who or what he wants to embody that day.

It might be found on the golf course, watching football with family, or when he picks up an instrument and gets lost for a while. The truth is, guys romanticize their lives more than we give them credit for—and the right gift can help them live those stories a little more fully (so yes, I have to agree with my friend: NOT socks).

Without further ado, our 2025 Gift Guide for Him is here—curated to inspire fun, play, and, most of all, to make him feel seen and loved this holiday season.
